Before the beginning of the sterilization stage, the air in the chamber is removed by using a vacuum pump, and then injected into pure steam to complete a process of vacuuming → filling steam.
Pulsation must be at least 3 times. If each vacuum is pumped to 0.1 atmospheres, then each pulsation will reduce the air in the sterilizer by 90% or 1 logarithmic unit. Three pulsations yield a drop value of 3 logarithmic units, effectively removing 99.9% of the air. In this way, the efficiency of air removal is increased, so that the balance time is shortened.
