When the vacuum is not complete, there is air residue in the tube, which hinders the entry of high-temperature steam, resulting in incomplete sterilization, affecting the effectiveness of sterilization, and increasing the risk of infection. When the vacuum is complete, there is no air residue in the tube, and high-temperature steam can fully enter and fully contact the inner wall of the tube to achieve complete sterilization.

We only need to check the negative pressure value of the three vacuum draws in the sterilization record to determine the vacuuming capacity of an autoclave. Usually, a sterilization process will undergo three vacuum draws, and when each vacuum draw reaches below -80KPa, the air is completely extracted, and the effectiveness of sterilization can be better guaranteed.
